Clare Maddock
Founder and Governor
After watching an upsetting video of dogs in the Kozan shelter, and feeling compelled to help, Clare Maddock helped set up Forgotten Dogs of Turkey and is heavily involved in the day-to-day management of the charity. She is retired, has a cat, a dog, and tropical fish.
Art Director & Trustee
Jackie Primrose
One of the original member, Jackie is our resident artist, raising much needed funds by auctioning her paintings. She has 3 rescue dogs, including one FDOT rescue and when on holiday, often helps out at a Turkish dog shelter. Jackie also does emergency fostering for ill and injured animals.
JULIE TUCKER
Gift Aid, Rehoming & Trustee
Julie joined FDOT in September 2024. In addition to being a Trustee, she organises Gift Aid to ensure the charity can claim tax back on your donations. She is also heavily involved in rehoming and managing dog innoculations and titres.

Finance Manager
Julie Cooper is our Treasurer and runs our forgotten dogs fundraising page.
Julie works full-time whilst also looking after her two dogs; Willow and Rex, her lovely adopted FDOT dog
SUSANNE
Fundraising
Susanne Hoffmann helps with fundraising, specifically the 100 Club. She also helps create our calendars. Susanne has been with FDOT since the beginning. She is a retired Police Officer and lives in Germany with her husband and 3 rescue dogs from Romania, Slovakia and Turkiye.
MARIA LYNNE
Fundraising
Maria helps with fundraising, sponsorships and adopted dog families chats. She works full time as a nurse in Yorkshire where she lives with her husband and Turkish rescue dog.
KATHY
Rehoming
Kathy is a retired nurse who spends every day trying to find homes for our dogs. She liaises daily with our fosterers to ensure our dogs have everything they need.
BRYONY
Webpage Manager
Bryony manages our webpage. She is a GP and remote doctor, and wanted to help Turkish dogs after responding to the earthquake.
She volunteers with Cats Protection, fostering cats and kittens. She lives in Frome with her husband, 2 cats and Turkish rescue dog Polar.
CLAIRE
Social Media
Claire is our Social Media guru. She regularly visits Turkiye and as an animal lover was appalled by the recent decision to cull the street dogs. Wanting to do all she can to help she adopted 2 FDOT dogs to live with her 3 UK rescue dogs.

Volkan Akyildiz
Volkan runs the main shelter we use in Turkiye, looking after all the rescue dogs day-to-day. He works tirelessly keeping them fed, healthy and loved, in addition to managing the hectic routine of keeping a shelter safe and secure
